Why mulberry silk rather than satin? Because satin is a weave and silk is a fibre — and that difference is felt by the skin, not the eye. Polyester can shine in much the same way, but it doesn't breathe; silk is a protein fibre that wicks moisture, resists static and stays pleasantly cool even after long hours of wear. That is why silk lingerie has been considered the most intimate form of luxury for centuries — not because of its price, but because of how it feels.

Silk repays a little attention.
